***Book: The Final Edition...
The Final Edition is the compelling novel about an American newspaper and the family that runs it, from the Civil War to the end of the 20th century. It is a tale of family intrigue, behind the scenes politics and all-too-human historical personalities: Beginning as the Civil War ends, it tells the story of the American century, the heyday of newspapers. For the next 60 years newspapers were the source—the only source—of information about politics and sports, scandal and tragedy. No informed American could afford to be without one. Neither radio nor television dislodged the dominance of newspapers in informing America. Newspaper publishers were political aristocrats, wielding enormous power; newspaper families were among the social elite in cities across America. The Final Edition is the story of a great newspaper, the Washington Sentinel, “a watchman in the night,” fearlessly protecting the public interest above all. Spanning five generations, it is also the story of the family that builds and then is destroyed by it. In this unique novel, former Washington Post reporter Lawrence Meyer brings American history to life in a powerful story that will captivate readers of all ages.

***Book: Hope's Promise... Jake Bennett is finally wed to the love of his life, Jessica Hale-but he isn't convinced she won't leave him. Life is a constant struggle for the Bennetts as they battle drought and live in fear of raids on Southerners, and he is not sure that Jess knew what she was getting herself into when she married him. Jess, however, despairs for another reason-she is unable to conceive a child. While trying to prove their unconditional love for each other, the Bennetts are devastated to discover that a former friend of Jess's parents, Miriam Van Dorn, isn't who they thought she was. Together, they must stand in faith through betrayal, danger, and barrenness, trusting that God will reward their hopes for a better future.
***Book: Love's Rescue...
Readers are responding positively to Tammy Barley’s debut novel, Love’s Rescue, with the first printing selling out not long after its July 7 release. Intrigue, romance, and faith flourish in this expansive epic set in the Old West at the time of the Civil War. Barley brings colorful characters to life, offering a glimpse of an era gone by, with pristine high plains, uncut forests of the Rocky Mountains, and a culture that revered God, family, and homeland. Reviewers give Barley kudos for her craft and the authenticity that rings true throughout the book. It’s no wonder - a descendant of “Wild Bill” Hickok, Barley is a stickler for historic accuracy who dresses in period costumes for her book signings, demonstrates crafts of the era, and shares relics of the Civil War and Old West paraphernalia.
***Book: Faith's Reward...
The year 1865 starts out as a nightmare come true for Jessica Bennett. Even though she is with child-an answer to heartfelt prayers-the cattle she and her husband, Jake, fought to save from drought the summer before now face the threat of freezing to death. Her fears worsen when Jake contracts pneumonia. Springtime brings trials of a different kind-the snowmelt causes the ranch to thrive so much that Jake must sell off the last of their cattle to make room for their horses and the young foals to be born. In the meantime, Jess endeavors to recover her rightful inheritance, which mysteriously disappeared from the bank. When she discovers a link between the banker and a group of murderous Unionists, who continue to target Southerners even though the war is over, Jake launches an undercover investigation. The conspiracy runs deeper and wider than either of them could have imagined. Jess must put her life-and the life of her unborn child-at risk to stop the ringleader and save the lives of many others. Yet, Jess refuses to give up hope in the God she serves-a God of love who often provides above and beyond our greatest dreams.
