EPISODE DESCRIPTION: This week Host Shirley W. Mitchell will be joined by her "Guest", Peggy "Aggie" Villanueva, known as the "Grandma Moses of the American Southwest", a Photographic Artist, Author, Editor & Publisher as they discuss "Return Entryway Into Paradise" with... Aperture Aside, Visual Arts Junction, Creating Literary Art, and Fairy Trails Gallery.

GUEST: Peggy "Aggie" Villanueva of Northern New Mexico is known as the "Grandma Moses of the American Southwest" - a Mother of 3 and a Photographer, Artist, Author, Editor, Publisher and Owner of Aperture Aside Photographer's Web Hub. Aperture Aside is an exciting new concept open to individuals across the globe who want to learn, grow and share as photographers, and is funded by Cielos Rojos Photographic Arts - with everything you ever wanted to know about photography in one place - and the largest web archives of everything photography related. When I was pregnant with my first child (a definitive creation in itself) I took a 2 week crochet class. Within a year I threw away all my crochet patterns and created my own. After selling my patterns freelance to National Crochet Magazines for awhile, I received offers to write my own columns and design my own patterns for 3 Crochet Magazines, which I did for a few years. Until my three children reached puberty I had several volunteer jobs delivering Meals on Wheels, Recreational Therapist at Bethany Hospital’s children’s ward in K.C., KS, various duties for my local battered women’s shelter, and the Rescue Squad for our local Shawnee, KS Volunteer Fire Department, among other shorter term community activities, including our local drama troupe. My grandparents, who raised me, were the biggest influence of creative thinking in my life. My grandfather, Reverend Vernon A. Vance, was, believe it or not, a Southern Baptist Minister. But they taught me through word and deed that if I am true to the Word of God in my own personal life there will be few in line with me, least of all those within the church, who need someone else to do their higher thinking. They taught me that God is our Source for everything—period. We need no human interpretation clouding his clear guidance. My health forced me to be less active. That’s when I began writing. Thomas Nelson Publishers published two of my historical novels in the 1980s, "Chase The Wind-Jun 1983-ISBN#0840758405" (which I co-authored with Deborah Lawrence), and "Rightfully Mine-1986-ISBN#0840730500". I enjoyed freelancing with poetry, articles, how-tos, and wrote 3 columns reviewing computer software, while for a short time was contributing editor for Christian Computing Magazine.  I then founded and directed Mid-America Fellowship of Christian Writers, a Bi-ennial three-day Writer’s Conference in 1988, 1990 and 1992, and taught at various conferences in colleges from Wichita to Chicago to Minnesota. I was featured on the cover of The Christian Writer Magazine October 1983. I walked away from institutionalized education (I dropped out of school and have a 6th grade education), and in the nearly 40 years since have never looked back nor ever regretted my decision. So, with my mind untainted, and molded mostly by influences of choice, I humbly present my little collection of photographic art as seen through an “Aggie Lens.” Or, more accurately, interpreted by what friends and family have dubbed “Aggie Logic.” I teach a Course on "Rewriting".You may contact Aggie at tel. 575-289-0408 or by E-Mail - myaggie2 @ gmail.com

HOST: SHIRLEY W. MITCHELL, National Author/Writer/Columnist/Speaker

GUEST: NANCY WENTZ, Award Winning Author & Speaker

TOPIC: A SUPERNATURAL HISTORY IN THOUGHT

EPISODE DESCRIPTION: This week Host Shirley W. Mitchell will be joined by her Guest, Nancy Wentz, an Award Winning Author and the Author of "Cursebreaker-Order of ther Scrolls" as they discuss "A Supernatural History In Thought" with... Order of the Scrolls, The Depression Era, Cursebreaker, and Angels-Prophets and Gangsters?.

GUEST: Born and raised in Colorado, award-winning author Nancy Wentz graduated cum laude from the University of Colorado. Two of her short stories, Henry Cushing and Babi Yar, were winners in the National Writers Association Short Story Contests. She has also written plays for the youth group to perform at her church and has freelanced articles for her current employer. Nancy has a great love for history and English literature, and, in their pursuit, found her creative outlet by incorporating aspects of both into her writing. Her voice is unique in that it reflects a classic nuance not typically seen in modern writing. Nancy became a Christian in her childhood and for years has prayed for God s will in her life. Through trials of brokenness and faith, God has shown her that He uses the most insignifi cant, the most defeated, to bring about His will and glory. This theme was the inspiration for her first novel that God chooses the foolish things of the world to confound the wise. Nancy and her husband have a wonderful young son. She and her family are active members of Littleton Baptist Church in Littleton, Colorado. She is the Award Winning Author of "Cursebreaker - the Order of the Scrolls".

Will this boy and his gift be enough to save lives and souls before the cycle of revenge and demonic possession destroys everyone he knows? His only weapon is the all-powerful name of Jesus.... Author Nancy Wentz s drama unfolds in both the physical and spiritual realms, treating the reader to a thrilling tale of mystery, passion, and historical intrigue"... Cursebreaker

What others are saying… about Cursebreaker...

"Rollicking ride with demons, angels, prophets…and gangsters! Nancy Wentz sends us on a rollicking ride with demons, angels, prophets—and Prohibition-era gangsters! In the process she highlights truths about the nature of faith and God's protection of His people. So jump on board, but hang on tight!"... David Fessenden, Editor, CLC Publications, Fort Washington, PA

"I was entertained, captivated, and stretched in my faith. I love being transported in my mind to other places and times.  Nancy’s book not only took me to another time, but it took me behind the curtain to a dimension that is there yet seldom seen.  The story is easy to follow, yet filled with intrigue and surprises.  I was entertained, captivated, and stretched in my faith and walk with the Lord, and caused to appreciate more deeply, my faith in Christ and my love for God"... Roy Hanschke, KPOF Radio Personality, writer, speaker

"Fantastic thriller - Cursebreaker grabs the reader from the start and does not relent until the final page.  The plot carries the action seamlessly.  The characters spring to life in dynamic detail and the imagery forges vivid pictures, blending together to create a fantastic thriller.  I thoroughly enjoyed Cursebreaker from start to finish.  The significance of the spiritual battle impressed me; I found I could relate to the fears and struggles of the characters. The action moves at a quick pace; little space is wasted.  I hope this entertaining book will have the opportunity to challenge people’s view of life"... Reverend Edwin Hargis, Littleton Baptist Church

"Well-crafted novel - Nancy Wentz is a talented, prize-winning author as evidenced by her well-crafted novel, Cursebreaker"... Sandy Whelchel, Executive Director, The National Writers Association"

"Excellent read for all - Nancy Wentz’s Cursebreaker takes you on an emotional trip like each phase of a magician’s trick.  Every new development keeps your finger on the next page. An excellent read for all"... Reverend Andrew Davis, Littleton Baptist Church

"Compelling story - Cursebreaker is an intensely visual book.  Nancy Wentz’s writing style is adorned with descriptive language, and the deliberate scene-by-scene construction instantly captures the reader’s imagination.  This supernatural thriller contains action, drama, and three-dimensional characters that quickly gain the reader’s compassion.  It is a compelling story of a young, untried hero, an antagonist who is the embodiment of evil, and the people who become entangled within the web of an ancient curse"... William D. Watkins, Author

"Fast-paced detective yarn - Cursebreaker is a fast-paced detective yarn with a religious twist; Wentz marries film noir and faith in impressive fashion"... Teague Bohlen, author, Professor of English, University of Colorado
